Mya Alderman
Hi! I’m Jamya Alderman (Mya) and I’m part of ECU’s College of Communication with a concentration in journalism. I plan on moving to Wilmington or Raleigh to continue to pursue my knowledge in journalism.
Emily Bronson
Emily is a senior at East Carolina University. She is a dual major in Communication and Political Science, with an accelerated Masters in Public Relations. After graduating with her Masters in Dec. 2025, she plans to set out for NYC for a career in PR and marketing. A fun fact about her is she is a successful campaign manager with work in local and state races since 2022.
Darian Hale
Darian Hale is a senior at ECU and a student-journalist, committed to covering local news and reporting issues that affect the communities.
Covering a wide range of topics from indigenous issues to, environmental issues and much more. He is dedicated to telling stories and uplifting voices.
He is on LinkedIn @Darian Hale and operates an independent news outlet known as “NC happening.” On Instagram.
Diego Lerma is a senior journalism student at ECU.
He is currently the editor-in-chief of The East Carolinian. In the summer, he will attend UNC Chapel Hill to get his master’s in video journalism.
Mary Beth Wall
Hello all! I’m Mary Beth and I’m a part of ECU’s College of Fine Arts and Communications with a concentration in journalism. I currently have an internship in a home building and real estate company in Raleigh. Upon graduation, I will be moving to Raleigh in hopes to further my knowledge in digital content creation and advertising.
Pel Law
I’m a fashion and journalist student at ECU.
I’m interested in pursuing a career in Broadcast.
Gabbi is a senior studying Communication. Before this she received her AA in Teachers Preparation at Pitt Community College, but decided to change career paths. After graduation, she wants to go back to school to receive her Masters in Clinical Psychology and Counseling. Some of her passions include writing, helping others, and spending time with friends and family.
